Selecting the right equipment for you.
By now we’ve all seen the number of “suspended type” of body weight training tools out there. More seem to pop up every day. One in particular (we don’t have to mention any names but you know who it is) has done a phenomenal job of bringing awareness of suspended type/body weight training to the industry. We’d be lying if we said we did not appreciate what they have accomplished. BUT, make sure to ask yourself the following before you decide on any one product out there.
- Will the product I am thinking about purchasing allow me to do pull-ups?
- Will it allow me to use different attachments such as rings, ropes and other cable attachments?
- Will it allow me to truly train on all three planes of motion at once?
- Will it allow me to not only use my own body weight as a source of resistance, but resistance bands and counterweights, as well?
If your answer to any of the above questions was no, make sure you really think about what you are purchasing. Body weight training is a great tool, but eventually you can get stale if the tool you are using is limited. Make the right investment for the sake of your pocket book and your body!
